For coaches and groups

Bring me yourtraining plan.

Most coaches I meet do not need another certificate. They need someone to sit down with the actual mesocycle they are running, ask why each session is there, and help them build the next one better.

Services

Programme review

You send me a mesocycle and the athlete history behind it. I come back with a written review: what the block is actually training, where the sessions conflict, what I would change and why. Followed by a call to talk it through.

£50 per 3-month block

Planning mentorship

A run of sessions across a season where we plan your blocks together rather than me handing them over. The aim is that you stop needing me. Suited to coaches with a group of their own who want to plan with more intent.

Track Day and Strength Assessment with your group - Minimum 3 athletes

I come to your session, watch your athletes run and lift, and coach alongside you. Technical feedback on your sprinters and on your coaching, delivered in the environment where it has to work. I will collect film and data from the sprint reps and lifts to review afterwards and provide a detailed athletic report for each athlete within 7 days.

Why me rather than a course

I am a UKA Level 2 Speed Coach finishing an MSc in Strength & Conditioning, which means I can read the literature properly and tell you when it does not apply to your athlete. I coach in a group that has produced a European 100m champion, and I run an exclusive private group of sub-elite athletes who continue to bridge the gap between themselves and the elite sprinters with programming and skill acquisition techniques that result in PBs year after year. My athletes have earnt athletic and academic scholarships to universities in the UK and USA, and rose through the UK and European rankings beyond where they imagined. My senior athletes PB late in their career after a few unsuccessful seasons with other coaches and overcome re-occurring injuries to feel better than ever. I have experience coaching a university sprint group, leading to their most successful BUCS in sprint events and all athletes PB'd.

I am also still competing, so I am unusually sympathetic to the coach who has planned a beautiful block and then had to bin it because three athletes turned up tired.

What I will want from you

Your plan as you actually wrote it, not a tidied-up version. Training age and injury history for the athletes it covers. Competition dates. And an honest answer to what you are trying to achieve in this block, which is the question that most often has no answer.

What this has produced

Best BUCS on record University sprint group

Their most successful BUCS in the sprint events, with every athlete setting a personal best.

3rd in Europe Michael Onilogbo

Ranked third in Europe over U18 100m during his time in my group, and went on to an athletic scholarship in the United States.

Scholarships & PBs Spiral Sprints athletes

Athletic and academic scholarships in the UK and USA, and senior athletes setting personal bests late in their careers.

Before you ask

The questions coaches actually have

Handing your programming to another coach takes a certain amount of nerve. These are the things people ask me before they book, so here they are answered up front.

Will you try to take my athletes?

No. I will not approach your athletes, accept them into my group during our work together, or discuss your programming with anyone. If one of them contacts me independently, I will tell you. My group is full and my interest is in you coming back next season, not in one recruit.

Do I have to be a sprint coach?

No. Most of what I review is speed and strength work inside another sport — football, rugby, and general athletic development. If the block is chasing speed, I can help with it.

Is this remote or in person?

Programme review and planning mentorship are remote, so location is irrelevant. The track day is in person and I travel — tell me where you are and I will tell you what is workable.

Am I tied into anything?

No. Programme review is a one-off per block. Mentorship is monthly and you can stop whenever you want. Nothing renews automatically without you knowing about it.

What if you think my programme is fine?

Then I will say so, tell you why, and we will spend the call on whatever is actually limiting your athletes instead. I would rather that than invent problems to justify the fee.

Not sure which one you need? Send me the block you are running now and I will tell you honestly whether a review is worth your money.
